Did you send a patch or pull request for those changes?  I can't see

Looking at providing Java iterators would be useful (there's no ticket
for this).  Dan did some work towards this, and a few other things,
which you can find here:

I think this got answered on IRC, but yes there's not really enough to
the Java bindings project alone, so you'd probably need to combine it
with something else.

A few good quality patches are useful, as they give us an insight into
what you skills are and how your work.
