Error while doing 'make'

I was configuring xapian on my system. I ran 'make', but it is giving me
following error

backends/glass/glass_table.cc:1726:299: error: ‘compress_strategy’ was not
declared in this scope
backends/glass/glass_table.cc: In constructor ‘GlassTable::GlassTable(const
char*, int, off_t, bool, bool)’:
backends/glass/glass_table.cc:1761:306: error: ‘compress_strategy’ was not
declared in this scope
Makefile:2700: recipe for target 'backends/glass/glass_table.lo' failed
make[3]: *** [backends/glass/glass_table.lo] Error 1

Could someone please help.
