Excellent. I’ve updated the getting started guide so hopefully it’s a little clearer about Date vs Number ValueRangeProcessors.

The “core” jumping off point is here: <https://trac.xapian.org/wiki/HelpWanted>, but you most likely want to grab either a bug or a “bite size” project from <https://trac.xapian.org/wiki/ProjectIdeas> as your first contribution. However all contributions are valuable, including pointing out where our documentation isn’t as good or clear as it could be.

If you have any questions, do ask! There isn’t a huge amount of detail in some aspects of how to start contributing, which is something I’m hoping we can improve this year, so anything that isn’t clear please let us know so we can both help you and make it easier for others in future.
