[Xapian-discuss] "New revision too low" patch

I'm getting the "New revision too low" error and so would like this fix:

Am I right that there's no released version that has it yet?  Can I 
just manually patch 0.8.3 to make this change:
http://cvs.xapian.org/xapian/xapian-core/backends/quartz/btree.cc.diff?r1=1.156&r2=1.157

And expect things to work?
