Actually, I see what's happening.  You've told the QueryParser to stem
using the english stemmer, and that will probably change some
hexadecimal values!

In CVS HEAD, QueryParser::add_boolean_prefix() probably does what you
want.  It's not yet wrapped, but I think James is about to check in code
to wrap the new QueryParser API.
