Luckily, this is a remote machine. Which means there is very
little danger of getting sucked into the shimmering time vortex
and meeting myself in the recent past. A fate usually reserved
for careless people experimenting with overclocking their
computers.

A little less luckily, this also means fiddling around with the kernel
is going to be a little scary. It's amazing the damn thing works at all.
