[Xapian-discuss] xapian vs lucene.net

Just a short, amusing note.
Today I presented my xapian/omega project in my company, and a colleague 
of mine did the same project in the last month using lucene.net and 
mediawiki. I use phpwiki as frontend.

Well, what should I say. Though Lucene.net has much better windows 
support, esp. pdf and outlook integration and also notify hooks to 
reindex automatically changed documents, my approach got the sanctus to 
be developed further.
We found everything we looked for, in a very short time, with the best 
ranking ad hoc, compared to lucene, and the omega layout was much better.

Though our userbase is a closed community, only company internally, I 
believe I may contribute the enhancements back to xapian.
