Connecting to dewey.library.nd.edu: Connection refused
http://www.library.nd.edu/ is ok.

I've used http://www.searchtools.com/guide/

I've used those three in various companies plus htdig and namazu.
xapian has a good ranking, even with plain omindex, comparable to
google, which has a format advantage over omindex to handle a richer
format, html, to calculate the ranking.
Lucene is just too "weird" for me, personally.

"Oracle Ultra Search" is also in consideration at my company, but I
rather incrementally dump the db to txt than mess with our db
internals and updates.
