It would be much better since I imagine a lot of Perl users will find
the bindings via CPAN and so won't know that there are newer versions
elsewhere.

I haven't.  I mailed him a week ago yesterday about uploading a newer
version, but haven't had a reply, which usually means he's snowed under
at work.

If CPAN supports it and Alex is happy to have a comaintainer, I'm
certainly willing to help out.
