It has inevitably had less real world testing than flint, but I'd say it is
production ready now.  I've been running gmane on it for ages, and there are
several other people using it in production situations.

I don't see us making any incompatible changes now, unless they were
unavoidable (something like the issue which turned up shortly before 1.0.0
where positional data wasn't always compatibly encoded on different
architectures).  I don't think that is likely.
