Hi David,

I maintain the Windows binaries so should be able to help.

I suspect it's a path problem: I'm assuming you're using the 1.2.3 
binaries as they're the only ones with 2.7 support. However the error 
message you report is a little confusing, as line 6 of __init__.py 
doesn't have the import _xapian statement.

Could you confirm which version of the bindings you're using?
