As part of this move, we dropped the old "/RPM" subdirectory. The
packages there were last updated over 7 years ago and are of Xapian
1.0.13 (which is a version well before the last in a dead release
series) or older.

There are at least two better options listed on the download page which
provide packages of Xapian 1.2.x:

https://xapian.org/download#RPM

The web logs are still showing requests for URLs under /RPM from "yum"
from a number of different IP addresses.

If you used to use RPM packages from xapian.org, please check any older
servers you have to see if they still have this repo listed.

And for those using these RPMs but not on reading this list, hopefully
removing these files will cause "yum" to report an error, and this email
can also serve as an explanation when they come looking for an answer as
to where these files have gone.

Cheers,
    Olly
