Xapian 1.4.12 released

Xapian 1.4.12 can now be downloaded from:


This release is mainly composed of bug fixes, portability improvements
and documentation enhancements.  There are also some performance
improvements and a few new features.

There's one known new problem too, which I spotted shortly after
uploading the release but before sending this announcement - the Ruby
testsuite fails unless Ruby >= 2.5 is used.  It didn't seem worth
aborting this release and rolling a new one just to fix this, so for now
please apply this patch if you need the Ruby testsuite to work with
older Ruby releases:
