Xapian 2.0.0 can now be downloaded from:
https://xapian.org/download
This is the start of a new release series, so there are a lot of changes
compared to 1.4.x.
The wiki has an overview page, but this is the start of the first new
stable Xapian release series in nearly 10 years, so any summary of the
most notable changes would either be too long to be very useful or miss
out too much stuff. Instead it links to the NEWS files for each module
which have full details of user-visible changes:
https://trac.xapian.org/wiki/ReleaseOverview/2.0.0
For those following the release candidates, this is what's changed since
the last release candidate, which was numbered 1.5.2:
* Version numbers updated to 2.0.0.
* Fix a bug parsing a leading extended wildcard on a prefixed field.
Reported by David Bremner.
* Improve examples of omindex --filter option in documentation.
* Update to latest config.guess and config.sub, as used for 1.4.x since
1.4.30.
* Omega: Eliminate an out of date FSF address from source files in
common/.
* Python3: Remove hard-coded major version assumption in smoketest.py.
* Tcl8: Update smoketest.tcl to `package require xapian 2.0.0` since
Tcl requires the major version to match.
* Tcl8: Adjust examples to work with Xapian 1 or 2.
