Comment:

 While it would be nice to have this for 1.2.0, we should be able to do it
 for 1.2.x without problems.  The only issue would be if we wanted to
 change the behaviour with Python 2.x slightly but that's probably a bad
 idea anyway.

 So bumping to stay on track.
