 Sorry, I missed your update. Yes, the patch fixes the error. I do get a
 few hundred warning of the type

 char*, extern "C" void(*)(interpreter*,cv*), char*) is being passed

 formal argument name in call to Perl_newXS(interpreter*, char*, extern "C"
 void(*)(interpreter*,cv*), char*).

 but it does seem to work.
