 You're going to need to give us more to go on if you want this usefully
 resolved.  I trivially can't reproduce this using just Xapian, which
 suggests it's either a haystack issue, or something else related to your
 setup:

 I would suggest approaching this using delve and
 {{{Xapian::Query::get_description()}}} to work out what is going on, as
 described here:
