New description:

 The xapian-check utilities has no test cases.

 It might also be generally useful to have a C++ API for xapian-check, so
 we
 should consider doing that, which would make writing test cases for this
 functionality a bit easier, though we can just run xapian-check from
 the testsuite programs (like we currently do for xapian-compact).

 We now have quite a few tests of xapian-compact, so make this ticket about
 xapian-check's lack of testsuite coverage.
