Comment:

 I'm afraid xapian-bindings 1.2 doesn't support python3.  There's support
 on git master (and in development snapshot 1.3.2).

 Ticket #346 was tracking progress on this.

 As far as I know, nobody's working on backporting python3 support to
 xapian-bindings 1.2.  It's certainly not a trivial diff + patch operation
 to do so.
