Comment:

 [d56fc51f498b474001744cd76e53c9f6beef6264] makes the symbols for the
 various overloaded forms of `str()` private to the library.

 Marking for 1.3.5 to at least check through the remaining symbols which
 are currently public but shouldn't really need to be.
