Comment:

 Backported in [dcb8e8be456ae9a9e78e30b0e566dd81ea73d831].  The lack of
 testing that this actually addresses the reported situation is still a
 concern, but the new timeout defaults to 0, so this shouldn't break
 current usage of 1.2.x.
