Comment:

 Good spot - `git bisect` shows that this was fixed by
 9cf77da645325affb88fac71760add8f4a9088a9 back in 2010 (so it was actually
 failing due to a bug in the disk-based backends, not one in the test
 harness or the remote backend).  I've reenabled this for the remote
 backend in 963048332bf135457ca163dc339579d0a710a26e.
