 A few follow-up commits have improved things, but this has still broken
 the appveyor builds, not entirely clear why.

 I've not tested yet but I suspect this breaks the build on OpenBSD, which
 apparently doesn't support `AI_V4MAPPED` for rather specious "security"
 reasons.
