Comment:

 1.4.18 is the current release (we're overdue a release, not helped by
 travis-ci stopping actually supporting FOSS builds despite public
 statements they would continue).

 The NEWS files on the RELEASE/1.4 branch are just the current draft
 versions.  Unless there's a tag, there definitely isn't a release yet, and
 really the website front page and download page are the definitive source.
