 Thank you for fixing this issue.

 I hate to ask this, because it makes me seem that impatient dude, but is
 there a point in the future where we could expect a new released version?

 The PHP Xapian extension is blocking upgrading servers to PHP 8.1 or 8.2.
 Support for
 PHP 7.4 has ended 28 Nov 2022 and since that date even PHP 8.0 will only
 receive security fixes.

 Somehow I've managed to compile the extension version 1.4.18 to PHP 8.0.3
 around March 2021, and that compiled binary still works with recent PHP
 8.0 core. But for now that seems to be the only way to run Xapian in PHP
 and still receive security patches to PHP.
