[Xapian-devel] GSoC 2014 : Learning to Rank

Hi everyone,

             I am Ankit Agrawal, a fourth year student enrolled in an
Integrated program(Bachelors and Masters) in Electrical Engineering at IIT
Bombay with interests in Machine Learning, Information Retrieval and
Computer Vision. I am interested in applying for GSoC 2014 under Xapian for
the idea 'Learning to Rank'.

            The relevant courses I have completed are Machine Learning,
Information Retrieval, Natural Language Processing and Probabilistic
Graphical Models*(taken this semester). I participated in GSoC 2013 with
scikit-image where I implemented various Image Feature Detectors and
Descriptors. My other open source contributions and repositories of some of
the course projects can be seen here <https://github.com/ankit-maverick>. I
have gone through the documentation of LetoR. I will start looking into the
codebase and would like to discuss the project idea in detail on IRC and
the mailing list once my midterms get over on the coming Saturday. Please
let me know of any other resources that you think I should go through first
to get started with contributing. Thanks.
