Yeah I sort of meant system-wide. The problem with cgi files in /var/www
is that those directories tend to contain lots of manually-managed
files, rather than /usr which contains only RPM-managed files. So it's
perhaps more natural to have the cgi files off in /usr then symlink to
them or access them via ScriptAlias. Just a thought.

Ok, maybe bad example. My install (I don't think I used an RPM after
all) actually has it here. It's not in /var/www/, but it's not where I
thought it was either.
/usr/local/viewvc-1.0.0-rc1/bin/cgi/viewvc.cgi
BTW I got my updated xapian-omega RPM. Thanks guys!
