[Xapian-discuss] java bindings

We are using the latest 1.5 Sun JDK.  I can confirm that on my system, 
the linux dir is required.
"make check" does pass.

After lots of fiddling, I've gotten it to index and search under tomcat. 
(need .so and jar in
$CATALINA_HOME/shared/lib and also need a -Djava.library.path pointing 
to the xapian-bindings
install dir).
