OK, it looks like AMD made CPUs without SSE2 more recently than Intel,
but we're still talking about machines which are 6+ years old, so SSE2
seems a reasonable default here.

I've checked in a change to allow --enable-sse=sse to allow restricting
to SSE1 instructions in the next release.
