I think unsupported assertions that language X is faster/slower than
language Y are essentially just weak attempts at trolling.

Even if you had any evidence to back up your claim, this wouldn't be
an appropriate place to discuss such things.  The time Xapian takes
is likely to dominate the time spent in the calling language.
