Hole in one!  My template is modified from the distributed "query" template
which has this line 133:

$if{$cgi{COLLAPSE},<INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=COLLAPSE
VALUE="$html{$cgi{COLLAPSE}}">}

This is made redundant by my inc/duplicatesdropbox.  When it was removed
from my template the problem was fixed.
