Comment:

 [8be35f5e1b1753cf83ce3794daf1e4558c94451f] skips timed tests if
 `AUTOMATED_TESTING` is set in the environment, so automated builds should
 just set that.  That crudely but effectively deals with this issue, so
 closing.
